Monkeypox Rapid Test Kit
Monkeypox Rapid Test Kit
As a leading lateral flow rapid test kit manufacturer, JOYSBIO successfully developed rapid test kits for detecting monkeypox (also known as Mpox) virus antigen and antibody. Monkeypox is an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus that is commonly found in Africa. Common symptoms of monkeypox infection including fever, headache, muscle aches, low energy, swollen lymph nodes and a skin rash or lesions.
JOYSBIO’s innovative Monkeypox Antigen Rapid Test Kit and Monkeypox IgM/IgG Antibody Rapid Test Kit are lateral flow immunoassays in cassette format for the qualitative detection of monkeypox antigen and antibody during infection.

The most common symptom of monkeypox virus infection is skin lesions. While infected by monkeypox virus, the virus antigen can be detected on the skin lesion exudate, acne scab swabs, or nasal swabs. The JOYSBIO monkey pox antigen rapid test cassette comes with a thin swab so that healthcare professionals can easily collect test samples from a patient’s skin lesions.
Features
- Rapid detection of monkeypox (Mpox) virus antigen
- 15-minute rapid test cassette
- Easy-to-operate
- CE-IVD certified
- Available in 1/2/5/20 tests/box
Monkeypox Antigen Rapid Test Procedure
- Twist off the cap of the buffer bottle, carefully dispense all buffer into the extraction tube。
- After collecting sample from skin lesion exudate or nostril with thin swab, insert the swab into the extraction tube, plunge the swab up and down in the fluid for a minimum of 10 seconds. Hold the swab against the bottom of the tube, rotate three turns. DO NOT splash liquid out of the tube.
- Remove the swab while squeezing the sides of the tube to extract the liquid from the swab.
- Press the nozzle cap firmly onto the extraction tube. Mix thoroughly by swirling or flicking the bottom of the tube.
- Gently squeeze the tube’s rigid body, dispense two (2) drops of the buffer-specimen mixture into the sample well on the monkeypox antigen test cassette.
- Read the test results between 15 and 20 minutes. Do not read the results after 20 minutes.

Interpretation of Test Results
- Monkeypox Antigen Negative: A colored band appears on the control line (C line); no colored band shows up on the test line (T line). A negative result indicates there is no monkeypox antigen in the specimen, or the level of monkeypox antigen is below the detection limit.
- Monkeypox Antigen Positive: A colored band appears on the control line (C line), a second colored band shows up on the test line (T line). A positive result indicates the presence of monkeypox virus antigen in the patient sample.
- Invalid Result: No colored band appears on the control line (C line). An invalid test result suggests there might be insufficient buffer volume or incorrect operating procedures. Carefully review the test procedure and test the same patient again with another monkeypox antigen rapid test cassette. Contact your distributor if the problem persists.
Monkeypox IgM/IgG Antibody Rapid Test Kit
Once infected by monkeypox virus, people can develop monkeypox IgM and IgG antibodies in about 3-7 days. Similar as the COVID-19 antibody rapid test cassette, the monkeypox IgM/IgG antibody rapid test cassette is compatible with whole blood, serum, plasma and fingertip blood specimens.
Features
- Rapid detection of monkeypox virus antibody with one drop of blood
- 15-minute rapid test cassette
- Easy-to-operate
- CE-IVD certified
- Available in 1/2/5/20 tests/box
Monkeypox IgM/IgG Antibody Rapid Test Procedure
- Wipe to clean the puncture site on your finger with the alcohol pad.
- Remove the cap from safety lancet, push the lancet firmly against the puncture site.
- Use the disposable pipette to draw the blood from puncture site.
- Add one (1) drop (20µL) of blood from disposable pipette to sample well on the test cassette.
- Add two (2) drops (70µL) of dilution buffer from the buffer bottle to the buffer well on the test cassette.
- Start the timer. Read the test results between 15 and 20 minutes. Do not read the results after 20 minutes

Interpretation of Test Results
The result of Monkeypox Antibody Rapid Test Kit should be read within 15~20 minutes after the sample and diluent are added into the sample loading well. The result displayed after 20 minutes is invalid.
- Monkeypox IgM Positive: colored bands appeared on M line and C line in the reading window, which suggests the patient is positive for IgM antibody against monkeypox virus.
- Monkeypox IgG Positive: colored bands appeared on G line and C line in the reading window, which suggests the patient is positive for IgG antibody against monkeypox virus.
- Monkeypox Antibody Negative: only colored bands appeared on C line in the reading window, which suggests the patient is negative for either IgM or IgG antibody against monkeypox virus.
- Invalid Result: there is no colored band at the position of C line in the reading window. The test is invalid regardless of whether there are colored bands in the M and G positions. Please repeat the test with a new test cassette.
